HOPE Place Services

24 HOUR CRISIS LINE through HELPline
You can reach HOPE Place 24 hours a day, just call (256) 716-1000 in the Huntsville, Alabama area or toll free 1-800-691-8426 in Alabama and Tennessee--HELPline.

In addition to domestic violence, HELPline counselors are trained to respond to many other concerns such as rape, eating disorders, depression, loneliness and suicide, to name just a few.

LEGAL ASSISTANCE
When you call HOPE Place, a court advocate can be provided. Court advocacy is available to victims of domestic violence in all counties that Crisis Services covers: Jackson, Limestone, Madison, and Morgan, whether you are in shelter or not. A court advocate can assist you with court proceedings related to your abuse--such as filing for an Order of Protection--and help you understand your rights.

COUNSELING AND SUPPORT GROUPS
HOPE Place has several counseling and support groups in place. While in shelter, HOPE Place provides group and individual counseling. Out of shelter, HOPE Place provides support groups for former shelter clients, victims of physical abuse and victims of emotional and  psychological abuse.  In addition, HOPE Place can provide referrals for batterers seeking counseling and Parallel Groups for victims of abuse whose abusers are now going through the court mandated Domestic Violence Intervention Program.  Referrals for children are also available.

Call HELPline for the service nearest you.

CASE MANAGEMENT
HOPE Place provides Case Management for individual victims of domestic violence. They can assist with developing safety plans, guidance through the legal system, referrals to other social services in the community, as well as helping to obtain basic personal items needed in your time of transition. Case managers can help to obtain resources for safer housing and transportation for victims fleeing from domestic violence.

HOPE Place
HOPE Place provides a safe, temporary shelter in a confidential location where you and your children can stay.  Crisis Services operates two safe houses that are provided free of charge and gives you security away from the abuser.

INFORMATION & REFERRAL
